Hear From Others Whose Lives Are Being Impacted by Gather
What are we up to in the year ahead?
We are actively listening for God’s guidance. Here’s just a taste of what’s in store for you and the entire Gather community:
Loop Collective – Loop Collective offers Loop women community groups that foster a sense of unity and belonging, providing support through heartfelt conversations and vulnerability; creativity workshops that foster contemplation and creative exploration of our hearts as we pursue God’s love and healing; and exclusive teaching that helps us engage with God authentically and meaningfully and deepen our faith.
Rapt Interviews—From tech to art to books to habits, Rapt is a multi-award-winning site for busy but thirsty people of faith who want to live every day with one foot in this world and one in the world to come. Our exclusive database of hundreds of conversations with Christian thought leaders allows us to curate an essential selection of ideas and resources to brighten the next stretch of your spiritual journey.
WiRE, Loop, Rush, FLAG, & Rapt – Of course, we’ll continue delivering the content you love through our five existing ministries—and a few surprises too!
Here Are Some Frequently Asked Questions About Gather Ministries
1. What is Gather Ministries?
Gather Ministries is the Christian nonprofit behind Loop for Women, WiRE for Men, the Rush Podcast, FLAG Messages, and Rapt Interviews. You might know us only for the Loop devotional that lands in your inbox twice a week or for the application resources Flag brings you but behind each of these dynamic ministries is one organization, founded in 2013 by Jennifer and Justin Camp, husband and wife writers in the San Francisco Bay Area. (They’re also the proud parents of three fantastic kids and one very gentle dog!)
Through the five ministries within the Gather family, we offer a hope-filled, honest perspective on God’s goodness and love to modern men and women. We aim to create beautiful, fresh content that stirs something in you and encourages you along the way, all while holding tight to a posture of humility and the reality that we, too, are travelers on the same faith journey as you.
Our earnest, everyday prayer is that our ministries will equip and encourage you to draw closer to God as you listen for His voice and find rest in His love.
2. Why does Gather raise money?
Like a for-profit business, it costs money to create our devotionals, books, interviews, Bible studies, etc. Unlike a for-profit business, any “profit,” or “extra,” is immediately re-circulated to support further ministry efforts. We would love to bring you free content all the time, but the basic laws of economics require that we either charge for our offerings (but we love sharing lots of free stuff with you!) or come to our community a few times a year to ask them to partner in bringing this important work into the world.
Here’s what we know: We know how to work hard and bring you our best stuff – our very best messages of God’s goodness and love—and we know how to do it in ways that you can fit into even your busiest days.
And here’s our promise to you: We will be careful stewards of this ministry, keeping our expenses—people, hosting, marketing—as lean as possible.
But—candidly—Loop, WiRE, Rush, FLAG, and Rapt simply wouldn’t exist without the generosity of people like you.
3. How can my single donation help?
We’ve seen the miracle of God’s provision repeatedly, year in and year out. God uses His people to provide—for other people, for families, for communities, and for ministries like ours. He moves in the hearts of individuals like you to give generously so that you and others like you can continue to be encouraged and equipped.
When we ask you to donate, we do it from a place of vulnerability and honesty. We mean it when we say we can’t do it without you. If you feel the Holy Spirit nudging you, please consider donating today. We are so grateful for you and your support!
4. Where does my donation go?
It takes money to run Gather Ministries. To share messages of God’s goodness and love, we generate lots of content that is delivered globally via the internet, by email, through our podcast, SMS, and books. To make all of this happen, we have built a small, efficient team of seven people: two co-executive directors (Jennifer and Justin), a part-time chief of staff, a part-time creative director, two part-time writers/copywriters, and a part-time Facebook Ads specialist. That’s a lot of part-time people (!), in keeping with our promise to our donors to be a lean and efficient organization.
Your donations go toward paying this small-but-mighty team, creating new products, maintaining our websites, and marketing our offerings. As a nonprofit crowdfunded ministry, we rely each year on the support of generous partners like you who equip our team to keep producing content that encourages our community, shares the truth of God’s love to those at the very start of their Christian walk, and cares for people who are hurting, lost, or overwhelmed.
5. What is Gather’s Statement of Faith?
We believe God exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and that He is a being of unimaginably wonderful power, goodness, and love. (Psalm 118:1; Psalm 145:1-9; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
We believe the world exists because God created it, that it belongs to Him, and therefore, we should cherish and care for it. (Genesis 1:1; Psalm 24:1-2; Isaiah 40:25-26; 1 Corinthians 10:26)
We believe all human beings have dignity because they were created by God in His own image and great worth because God values them beyond our ability to measure. (Genesis 1:27, 31; Psalm 8:3-6; John 3:16; Romans 5:8)
We believe this world also has pain and suffering because human beings have fallen and sinned and are estranged from God, from each other, from ourselves, and from creation. (Genesis 3:17; Romans 3:23; Colossians 1:21; Titus 3:3)
We believe God will not allow sin and suffering to get the last word but is at work to redeem and reconcile what He has made. (Isaiah 11:6-9; Colossians 1:21-23; Revelation 21:1-5)
We believe God has revealed the truth about Himself in the Old and New Testament scriptures, which are our unique and authoritative guides in faith and action. (Matthew 4:4; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:16-17)
We believe God has expressed Himself uniquely in His Son Jesus, who lived, taught, died, and rose again for our sake. Jesus is our master and teacher and savior and friend and now reigns forever with the Father and the Holy Spirit. (John 14:6-7; Acts 2:32; 1 Corinthians. 15:3-4; Ephesians 2:13; Colossians 1:15-20; Philippians 2:5-11; 1 Timothy 2:5-6)
We believe the Spirit of God is now available so we can be closer to God than the air we breathe. (John 14:26; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:26; Galatians 3:14;Ephesians 1:13-14)
We believe the Church is the community through which God wants to bring love, healing, and growth to the human race, to which He invites everyone willing to follow Jesus to join. (Matthew 18:18-20; John 1:12-13; Acts 1:8; Galatians 3:28; 1 Peter 2:9)
We live in hope because one day Jesus will return, love and justice will prevail, and God will set the world right. (Matthew 24:30-31; Luke 12:40; Romans; 8:37-39; Revelation 21:1-5)
